ANOTHER STEP

The hospital feels that they have done as much as they can for Philip with this visit. The symptoms from the new medication can be treated with oral medication so it is time for him to leave the hospital. The person from Accredo (the company the supplies the medication at home and educated us on how to use it) will be in first thing in the morning to do more education and change him from the hospital medication to the home medication. I know we have to leave because at some point the insurance company will become unhappy, but frankly it feels real good to have the medical professionals so close. Philip will leave the hospital and we will spend one night at the SECU Family House. He continues to struggle with a headache and occasionally nausea and vomiting, plus his cheeks are blotchy. The pain medication leaves him very sleepy. We remain very hopeful that his body will become accustomed to the medication and all of the symptoms will leave. In the mean time the blood tests indicate that his liver and kidneys are happy.

Philip is very accepting of the situation. He takes it in stride as much as possible. The three of us continue to look to the future for better things.
