When to Call 911

How do we know when to call 911. Many people feel reluctant to make a call to bring help.

Below is a list of symptoms for calling 911:

  1. Chest pain, suspected heart attack
  2. Difficulty breathing
  3. Severe persistant abdominal pain
  4. Uncontrolled or excessive bleeding
  5. Head injury
  6. Loss of consciousness
  7. Poisoning (after you call Poison Control hotline at 1-800- 222-1222)
  8. Severe burn
  9. High fever over 103 degrees, especially in children
  10. Seizure
  11. Diabetic complications
  12. Gunshot or stab wounds
